    Under the guidelines of Keuka College, the NEAC Conference and the NCAA, the assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all aspects of the women’s basketball program, including but not limited to: recruiting, eligibility, game and practice plans, scheduling, supervision of student athletes during practices, contests and trips to insure they represent Keuka College in a positive manner, work collaboratively and collegially with fellow staff members, others duties as assigned. It is also the responsibility of the assistant coach to assure that all Keuka College, NEAC and NCAA rules and regulations are followed. Any violation of Keuka College, NEAC or NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

    General Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will also serve as a Head Coach of a second sport within the Keuka College athletic department to be determined by the successful candidate’s background and abilities. These could, but are not limited to, the Head Coach of the Golf, Cross Country or Tennis programs. The successful candidate may have other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for all phases of the program including but not limited to: recruiting of student-athletes, practice planning and implementation, game/match play, travel and budget management.

    Specific Responsibilities
    Duties include but are not limited to:
    • assist with the development of and implementation of recruiting plans with the Head Coach
    • actively recruit and evaluate prospects
    • conduct recruitment visits
    • conduct recruitment evaluations and in-person visits to home, school, showcase camps and club competitions as per NCAADIII (National Collegiate Athletic Association – Division III) and NEAC (North East Athletic Conference) regulations
    • assist the Head Coach to develop practice plans and strategies for upcoming contests
    • assist in player skill and conditioning programs
    • develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice
    • develop, in coordination with the Head Coach, scouting reports on upcoming opponents
    • assist in travel planning
    • other duties determined by Head Coach
  • Qualifications/Requirements
    Bachelor’s degree required with coaching and recruiting experience preferred.
