    Job Description:
    Under the direction of the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in all aspects of the development and administration of a successful NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Sports Program. The program will be conducted in accordance with all University and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules, regulations, and policies.

    This position's concentration is in Pitching.
  • Essential functions include but are not limited to:

    Teaching/Coaching --
    a. Teach and develop sport specific skills, in a successful, safe,
    and prudent manner.
    b. Develop, present, and maintain up-to-date lesson plans of
    pre-season/in-season practice drills and procedures.
    c. Schedule practice and game preparation sessions.
    d. Conduct research of opposing teams.

    Administrative --
    a. Recruit student-athletes of the highest caliber.
    b. Initiate new ideas and methods to improve the program.

    This is a part-time (15 hours per week), 9-month position paid by stipend on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Job Requirements
    We are currently seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited four-year collegiate institution. Experience in coaching and knowledge of the fundamentals, tactics, and strategies of intercollegiate baseball pitching and the ability to recruit talented players for the program are required. In addition, some travel is necessary and a driver's license is preferred. To be successful in this position, candidates must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to work well with student-athletes as well as other members of the department. Current CPR and First Aid certification is a must as is the ability to handle emergency situations involving students. Candidates must also have the ability to be exposed to weather and to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

    At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
