•Advises and counsels student-athletes academically, athletically and socially.
•May recommend the purchase of new basketball equipment, supplies and uniforms.
•May represent the College at Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meetings.
•Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.

This position assists the Head Coach in conducting a successful intercollegiate football program, and insures that the program provides positive athletic experiences for its participants. The Assistant Coach will teach, coach and mentor student-athletes. This position also entails recruiting student-athletes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists the head coach with the daily operation of the football program.
• Teaches skills and strategies.
• Observes students during practice and games and through film study to reinforce positive performance and to detect and correct mistakes.
• Evaluates talent, on video and in person.
• Contacts prospective student-athletes by telephone and in person, schedules campus visits, meets with prospects and participates in special events.
• Assists with the strength training, speed training and conditioning of students to achieve maximum athletic performance.
• Consults with the sports medicine staff regarding the health and safety needs of student-athletes.

Job Description:
Under the Direction of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Aquatics and Waterfront, the Head Coach, Swimming & Diving, and Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the program. This position's primary responsibility includes all aspects of the development and administration of a successful NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Men's & Women's Sport Program as well as the coordination of aquatics activities and programs. The sport program is conducted in accordance with all University and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies.
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
• Coaching/Teaching Duties -- create, present, and maintain records of lesson plans with desired goals, schedule practice and game preparation sessions, conduct post game analysis, and develop sport specific skills in a successful, safe, and prudent manner.
• Administrative Duties -- Conduct an ongoing recruitment effort, serve as liaison and assist with the development and operation of programs & classes for students, faculty, staff, and the local community, assist in teaching American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR classes, as well as coordinate the management of the aquatics facilities.

This is a full-time, 12-month position.
