Job DescriptionColorado College invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach (Offensive Coordinator)/Weight Room Supervisor. Founded in 1874, Colorado College is a private, four-year, independent coeducational liberal arts college of 1950 undergraduate students. It is located on a 90-acre campus in downtown Colorado Springs, on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains at the foot of Pikes Peak. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Reporting to the Head Football Coach, this position requires all of the attendant duties and responsibilities associated with assisting in the successful management of a Division III athletic program (s). Emphasis is placed on knowledge of current offensive systems. Organizational abilities, communication skills, technical abilities, initiative, enthusiasm and loyalty are valued attributes. Specific duties as coach include but are not limited to:
- Understanding that the academic commitment of athletes at Colorado College takes priority over other commitments including participation in sports.
- Adherence to NCAA Division III and Colorado College rules and guidelines
- Working with the Head Coach in preparing, developing, and managing the annual budget with the goal of operating a balanced budget.
- Assisting with organization and administration of the appropriate pre-season, season, and post-season programs to include scheduling, making travel arrangements, contracting officials, and organizing home contests.
- Working with the athletic medical staff and Boettcher Health Center to insure a commitment to the health and safety of the athletes.
- Assist in recruiting prospective athletes by adhering to the philosophy of Colorado College and the appropriate Division III rules of the NCAA.
- Assistance with alumni and community outreach, to include public speaking, correspondence with alumni and athletic fundraising.
- Helping to implement the College’s commitment to increase diversity in its student body, its staff, and its programs.
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
Specific duties as Weight Room Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Supervision and scheduling of work-study students to operate the Carle Weight room.
- Oversight of facility maintenance, repair and upkeep.

Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree plus 4 years experience coaching football at the high school level or higher, particularly the offense, is required. Master’s degree and playing experience are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience with a double-wing option offense. Candidates should be nationally certified, or willing to become certified as a National Strength and Conditioning Specialist. In addition, he/she should be familiar with the issues in higher education and demonstrate techniques and a coaching philosophy appropriate for a liberal arts college. Additional requirements include personal integrity, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to assist in articulating a clear vision for Colorado College’s athletic program. The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of a liberal arts college, support and contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity at Colorado College and will be able to work effectively with the many constituencies in a college environment.
