Job DescriptionWashington and Lee University invites applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Founded in 1749, Washington and Lee is a highly selective, residential co-educational liberal arts university of 1675 students located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The University is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, sponsoring 23 varsity sports.
This is a full-time, 11-month position working in all phases of the women’s basketball program. The successful candidate will also teach in our required physical education program. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach and the Director of Physical Education will assign duties. Candidates must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes as well as the importance of good citizenship both on and off the playing field. Responsibilities include player skill development, recruiting coordination, involvement with practice planning, personnel decisions, and scouting and game management. Minorities are strongly encouraged to submit an application.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but to be assured of consideration, credentials should be received no later than June 10, 2008.

Job RequirementsA bachelor’s degree is required. Competitive coaching experience and collegiate playing experience is preferred.
