Job DescriptionWilkes University invites applicants for a football intern in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, beginning August 2009.
Wilkes University is an independent institution of higher education with approximately 2,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, a mid-sized city within two and one-half hours driving distance of New York City and Philadelphia. Wilkes University is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation.
The primary responsibility is to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including the recruitment of quality student athletes, organization and planning of all practices, game preparation, administrative tasks, scouting, team fundraising and monitoring student athlete academic progress.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Previous participation and/or coaching experience are preferred. This position includes a stipend, housing and a block meal plan.
