Job DescriptionALTOONA, PA – The Penn State Altoona athletics department is searching for a part-time assistant men’s basketball coach for its NCAA Division III program. This is a ten-month coaching position that includes a salary stipend and limited opportunities for additional part-time work (if desired). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist head coach with the organization and direction of all aspects of the Men’s Basketball program. Specific responsibilities include: regular practice sessions and game preparation; assisting with overseeing the administrative process for team travel, public relations and promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program; and identification and recruitment of athletically and academically qualified student-athletes.
Job RequirementsCandidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and have a flexible schedule. The assistant men’s basketball coach must be a good communicator and have a sound understanding of coaching at the high school or college level. College level coaching or playing experiences a plus.
