Job DescriptionAustin College, a selective admission, residential, liberal arts and sciences institution located in Sherman, Texas, north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, seeks an assistant football coach-defensive coordinator for its program.. The position is a full time, 11-month appointment reporting directly to the Head Football Coach as well as the Chair of Exercise and Sport Science. The assistant coach will be responsible for directing all aspects of the defensive game plans and provide supervision of assigned staff. The successful candidate will assist with the recruitment of qualified student-athletes reflecting the undergraduate profile, and will be expected to support the academic areas of the College and to teach in the ESS program.
Job RequirementsMaster’s degree in education or related field and five years of coaching experience including experience at the college level are required. Demonstrated understanding of the philosophy of a residential liberal arts institution and NCAA Division III desired. Experience as a student-athlete or coach at a non-scholarship, residential liberal arts and sciences institution beneficial.
